From the rpms and mph you described, you are in 6th gear. The stock bikes do tend to lug in 6th. You can add some timing and fuel in that area from 60 to 100% load area. On the PCV that would be the 40 to 100 % throttle position. 10% more fuel and 2 to 4 degrees more timing may help. The 110 is bad about lugging in that area. Put a 30 tooth front pulley and 139 tooth belt and it will make a large difference. You will have to have a different tuner to change the speedo. 6th gear will be very useful and can accelerate about like 5th. Lots more fun and will only make about 300 more rpms.

if you add timing, you may get pinging. I had to take out timing in that range for cruise. I have auto tune though, don't know if you do.

The cruise range is from 60% and lower. The area I am talking about is above 80%. He doesn't have a laptop with him anyway. I have attached the timing map I have used on a power commander 5 for long time. Works great. As you can see do remove timing from cruise range. Never had a ping and runs really smooth. I also attached a fuel map . I could have uploaded the map but that would make it too easy.

It falls between 70-80mph. I have all intentions of working with Fuel Moto to correct the map, but I can't on my trip because I don't have my laptop.

My question is do you think there are any risks in bypassing the tuner for the rest of the week and taking care of this once I'm home?
Where out east are you. I am in Bryson City, NC for another week. Have laptop can travel little ways.

Worth a shot and, if it seems to run too lean/rich, can always re-connect tuner and press-on.
Yeah thats what I would do also, if its going to run hinky youll know in short order, but Im guessing it will run fine.

Not trying to hijack this tthread but Ive been looking at your map and if I might ask a few questions without b eing rude;....what kinda mileage are you getting with that map? Ive got my timing retarded in the area close to yours to eliminate pinging with some interesting differences, the map goes from some healthy advanced tables, to retarded tables, then advanced again can you feel those changes like that or is it seemless? Did you put the map together from scratch or was it given to you? Thanks for the response and everyone for endulging me.

Thanks everyone for the responses. I spoke to FM tech support and a local HD dealer in Utica, NY and they said I should be fine for the rest of the trip with just unplugging it. Thanks for the reminder about the o2 sensors, I did forget I unplugged those when I installed the PCV.
