Default Engine Question

I'm looking for some advice. I have an 01 Road King Classic. I have V&H Monster Ovals and an Arlen Ness Big Sucker Stage I AF. Also installed is a PCIII. I have been thinking of moving to a 95 kit. After looking around I notice that I can get the HD 95 kit or a Revolution Performance 98 kit for about the same price. I'm not looking for raw power, just personalizing for my own taste. Has anyone had any experience with the RP 98 kit and how it compares to the HD 95.

Thanks in advance

I can't tell you from experience, but think about this. A 95" is 7" bigger than an 88" or 8% bigger. A 98" is ten inches bigger than an 88" or 11.36% bigger. You don't think 3 inches isn't a big deal? Go on Bob Woods website www.woodcarbs.com and look at the dynoruns in the twin cam fuel injected area. 98" are right behind 96", so you'll have to back up to compare to the 95". RevPerf is a good kit, the cam you choose will make it go though.

I always prefer to go with factory stuff; especially for engine work. I'd go with the H-D.

Cosmetic doesn't matter much.

I bought a 2000 Ultra T/C 88 and ran it "stock" for a few years.
I decided to install a Baker 6spd in it because I do a lot of touring.

Quite frankly, the stock engine wasn't powerful enough to push the bike unless I was in 4th or 5th gear.
My dealer had a special deal over the winter months and I had the 1550 (95) Big Bore kit installed and what a difference it made.
The difference in Torque was fantastic.
The bike just seemed lighter and more nimble.
I couldn't tell you that it was faster or not but I can tell you that in the mountains, or when I pulled a trailer, the difference in power was well worth the cost of the engine work.
BTW, I put about 40,000 miles on the bike after the engine work was done and it didn't use hardly any oil and it ran great when I sold it with nearly 80,000 miles on it.
