Default Fork swap question

I did a search and didn`t find the answer I was looking for. I have an 05 RK that I have put chrome lowers and monotubes in the forks, I`m looking at trading for an 09 Road Glide. Can I swap the forks on the RK with the RG ? It would be much easier to just swap them instead of having to take them apart.

They are the same forks 2000 to 2013. And I would say yes it would be easier just to change them.

Thanks Tanker, I was pretty sure they were the same. It will save a lot of work.

I think I remember seeing differnt part # when I was comparing my 2000 flht and 2013 flhx, I know the front forks on the flhx are much stiffer than my old flht.

I thought there were differences that showed up when looking at replacement springs and lowering kits, and refill oil quantities for that matter. Though they may all be the same when it comes to external dimensions (diameter, length). Not sure what will happen to ride quality and ride height with the weight differences.

I just meant the forks are the same. But if you look in the manual internally the parts are different. And oil amount is even different. I would imagine it's do to the difference in weight with the fairing. So it might change the ride. Also doesn't a road glide sit lower. Sorry for the confusion.

'02-'05 have 1 cartridge and 1 damper rod fork and the 09 has dual cartridge forks which is the better system....
