have the same problem with hands aching all the way up my arm. I havent found the prefect grip yet but I bought a throttle lock to use until I can find what works. Ive been usung this thing for 10 years now. I dont search for grips as much as I use to.

I am running the Avon grips and could not be more pleased! I have run PM Rethal's and the Kuryakin's and the Avons are better in my opinion. If you decide to go with the Avon's I will warn you that the throttle boss is not as easy to adjust (kind of a pain really) but worth it considering the quality!

Try a different size grip before doing surgery. Smaller grip worked for me.
