I don't mind the idea of listening for oddities, but I'll see how long I can wait then, lol.

Slip-ons can be done right away. Headers not so much. My advice is not to ever put a new bike on a dyno unless you have atleast 500 miles on the new motor.

Nothing out there says anything about you having to wait. You can add exhaust whenever you like. I do like the ideas being tossed around of waiting until your bike is broken in first and doing it round the 1k service, thats what I did.

Like MR.G, I waited for 1k to roll around for the 1st service. I then installed V$H slip-ons. Checked the plugs and Slim was running lean. Showed the dealer and they advised to MAP it. They recomended Open AC, Super Tuner and Dyno only if had over 1k.

Most of the brand new bikes I see rolling out to their new owners already have had a new exhaust put on.

I just put on some V&H slip-ons this weekend, the bike is brand new with 200 miles on it. I couldn't stand the sounds of the stock exhaust any longer. Bike seems to be running great, I'd suggest getting a set of XiED to bring the engine heat down a bit.

I waited until after 1000k. Out of town a lot so I had dealer do the install and they agreed to honor all warranty. Maybe talk to dealer about warranty 1st. No dyno, installed auto tune.

My bike's been waiting for 10 years.

I'm almost ready.

I lasted the length of a test ride before doing Stage 1.
