Default Vibration

Read thru tons of threads about same vibration i have on my 2010 roadking but nobody has posted final fix. Buzzy boards at highway speed, pull in clutch and vibration fades after 5 seconds... Inner primary? Compensator? Exhaust? Anybody???

Vibration is going away when you disengage the engine and the RPM's drop....

Vibration in your rubber mounted drivetrain indicates improper vehicle alignment. The Harley manual describes how to align and properly tension rear wheel in swingarm before adjusting front and top heim joints to center and square up swingarm to front wheel.

if you have not done this before it is not something you want to attempt.

Stupid question maybe but if you shift up or down, does the vibration go away? I know on my bike if my boards start slightly vibrating I shift up or down according to the rpm's and the vibration goes away......

Default I Have My Suspicions

2010 Road King has the 25MM axels. Wheel bearings are VERY SUSPICIOUS suspect. If the vibration isn't there at all at the lower speeds/gears that could account for it. At the very least you should double check them! This is a common problem!

Did front wheel bearings already for that reason. Felt good but put new ones in for peace of mind. No change in vibration. New tires... No change in vibration. At 50 mph and up, have vibration... Pull in clutch, vibration goes away over a periid of about 5 seconds. This tells me its driveline not chassis. Belt set perfect... Pulled primary, no fuzz on magnet no peices in primary. From external inspection compensator " looks fine". Have none of the other traights of a failing compensator (clunk, clank or slack). Wondering if i should be replacing compensator next but hate to spend the cash and time if thats not it...

Blackjeep......I feel your pain.

been there, sold that!!

Somethin' aint right with the last few '13 SG's I had......sold em both due to this problem. 5 miles felt like 50!

Mine did it even sitting still on the side stand. Just rev motor at cruising RPM (2200-2400)......BZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ.

When they (HD) figure it out, I'll be back. Considering a softtail dlx. I started 3 SGs at the dealership (all new), they all buzzzzzzed at 2400.........I'll pass.
