No, it's more like an axle nut or something even worse.

personally when i rode mine on first test ride it started at 8 miles, after test drive i boguht it with 38 miles. so when i left i was easy on it till about 60 miles. after that i rode it just like it was going to be rode the rest of its life and 25K later no problems from it. had 80 mile ride home on interstate and didnt worry about the 60 MPH or 6th gear BS.

OK. The 60 MPH thing is because: Higher speeds usually mean higher RPM's. Never heard of the "Parts Falling Of Bike" thing. And hope I never do again.

I was told 2800. I didn't have a book at the time. So I did what they said. I found that I was doing about 2800 in 5th gear @ 60 MPH. I could bump up to 6th and drop my RPM and run 65 MPH as long as I was "straight and level" ( or down hill ).

Actually, there is a method to that madness. Just not sure I'm willing to test it out.

I was told by my dealer to ride it like I stole it. Besides, it went from the crate to the dyno and I doubt that's an easy break-in

My dealer told me to keep it below 3000 rpm, vary the rpm on the highway, and don't use the cruise control till 1000 mi.

Too late, should have broke in like this. Been doing this for years and always had a strong running bike with zero oil usage. I know some will poo- poo this method, but it works. Use it for cars also.
