White walls, hard bags, wheels. Do you like hard shell, black walls and mag wheels? I like leather bags, white walls and smooth laced wheels that were on my RKC.
Look at the bikes side by side in pix and you will know right away.
You can find Road Kings with the smooth lace wheels, at least I did. So I have the hard bags, Cruise, ABS, Smooth Profile Lace Wheels, and now WWW.
Thanks for all the input guys, have laced wheels on my dyna and cleaning the spokes is painful and they also rust alittle, would like to get away from spokes but like the abs and cruise control factor.
Guess I'll have to compromise somewhere and see what combinations are available.
Bags, wheels, and white walls.... Pretty interchangeable stuff here. Used wheels are cheap enough that I wouldn't base a decision on that alone. Cruise and ABS - might weigh more into decision - might not, depends on you.
Harley didn't offer the Tequila Sunrise option for the RK, only the classic.... Then I put chrome RK wheels on it, and Hard Bags, but kept the white walls.... I guess I have a RK 1/2 classic :-)
I love my 2011 RKC. I prefer the leather bags, love the cruise, the whitewalls, the spoke wheels...."classic" look. Like RKZen, the power is noticeable, especially with stage one. I just bought a ling tour pack for the wife. Maybe it will look unusual, but WTH...maybe custom paint?? It comes off easy when I am alone !!! I am an old man (52), so classic look appeals to me.
Lots of people choose the RK over the RKC just because of the lockable hard bags, you can actually get locks for the leather bags (I plan on doing this soon as I prefer the look of the leather bags among other things)

I have the Ponderosa saddlebag locks on mine. http://www.saddlebaglidlocks.com/ I know that a determined thief can still get in if they want to by cutting the leather straps, but these will slow down the opportunist that wants to see what's inside. (Why bother cutting open my bags when you don't know if there is anything of value in them?) I lock them when I am parked outside overnight and have never had anyone mess with them. Here is a video explaining the installation, which does not alter the bags themselves at all.
I had the same dilemma back in April and ended up going with RK. Honestly the thing that swayed me the most, ok other than price, was not having to deal with spokes again. I hated trying to keep spokes clean on my softail and with the big fenders on the RKC it would be extra hard to mess with those spokes. Not to mention you can plug a tire in an emergency if you get a flat. To me everything else was about the same. I doubt you will be disappointed with either. As someone mentioned above they seem to have more color choices out there like 2 tone and stuff of the classic but it's hard to beat black.

Yeah I know what you mean about the spokes thats the main reason I am leaning away from the classic, love the look but rusty spokes and cleaning them all is painful.
However maybe going to check out a classis with the tour pack thats being offered at a good price so that maybe the swinger.
In no hurry though and may just hang untill winter then crunch some dealers for a deal.
Have also been looking at some Heritages (Yeah I know Spokes again)solely because of price, differnet bikes I know but basically needing more comfort and the Dyna is a little cramped and hard on the **** when riding far. Being mid fifties I think a more comfortable bike is defintely on the cards.
Had a good deal came along on a classic I would have dealt with the spokes. I test rode Heritage and a RK back to back and there was no comparison in comfort, the Heritage felt just like my softail standard with different bars. I ride a lot longer on my RK then I did on my softail.
