Every year at this time the MOCO releases the new model year lineup. There are always upgrades, fixes, improvements, changes, redesigns, deletions, phase-outs, new colors, new chrome, new powder coating, bigger engines, better brakes, better controls, better sound systems...to each and every new model year! We all know the cycle, we all know how it works! Some of these changes are obvious, some are not so obvious. We also know that a percentage of the crowd will love the changes, another percentage will hate the changes!

I love my 2009 Street Glide...and I will never sell or trade her! But I am always making some improvement to her and every time I get in the garage and clean her up, add something new, fix something that needed tweaking or do a good detailing...I love her that much more! Hell...I get excited after I spend a few hours changing fluids!

I'm heading to the dealership today to check out the 2014's. Would I like one...sure! But I also realize that the ton of $$$, energy and changes I made to my 2009 (and my previous 2007 and 2008 HDs) would also need to be done to this brand spanking new 2014! THAT is exacty how we personalize our rides and make them our own! We all do it...it's just the way it is...it's just the way we are!

While I admire and respect the older technology...I embrace the new technology!

2013 and older bikes are losing value as we speak. As more acceptance of the Twin Cooled occurs the previous bikes will be worth even less. Liquid cooling most likely will be in even more bikes in the next years to come. People can whine, complain and pontificate all they want, but it won't change the market. H-D is finally doing what the major auto manufacturers have been doing for many years and actually improving the product in all respects instead of just cosmetic changes.

Those are my opinions. I think H-D has done an excellent job, for once, of listening to their customers while keeping the tradition and culture intact. I, for one, am glad they didn't transplant the Vrod engine or some other non-traditional v-twin in the bikes just to get liquid cooling.

My Touring bike is a vehicle, a machine. It is something that I use. It provides me many miles worth of fun and memories for my wife and I. If they have made a better machine that an do that job better, I am all for it. I have already been to the dealership to look at the new bikes..

The air cooled v twin motor is the heart and soul of a Harley. It's the reason we buy them, antiquated design and all. I personally will never buy a water cooled Harley, they have lost the very essence of what made them special. Change may be inevitable, but it is not always for the better. I can't wait for the 2020 all electric Harley lineup.......

Have loved every minute on every ride I have owned, import and Harley but have to say the heat is on for Harley and others to come into the EPA controlled game or pack it in. Water cool is just the ticket to control the heat from the extra lean and crappy gas eaters we see on the lines, will at some point have to deal with it or either walk or cage otherwise.

How many people wish they had an Evo engine over the Twin Cam? Not too many I am sure. Those Evo bikes can be had real cheap because no one wants them anymore.

I don't think it's a bad thing, I just ain't in a hurry to get one. I'll let ppl go through the aches and pains of the new issues then I'll jump in the game at a later date.

I disagree. Wait till the "leaking coolant" and "broken water hose" posts start. The value of my 2012 will retain its value and may even increase as the "problem" threads on water cooled start popping up. It may take 2-4 years for moco to work out bugs. In the meantime, I will enjoy my "old technology" 2012 SG and stop to help every single water cooled bike broken down on the side of the road!! LOL
