The vibration I'm feeling isn't really bad, but it is there, at highway speeds and it bugs me.
They work just as well as traditional wheel balancing and eliminate weights stuck to the wheel. They are not really any better though, just a different solution to the same problem. The real advantage of them is for people who change tires themselves and don't want to buy a balance machine and stock up on wheel weights.

I'm done with them. The first time was great, pour the pack into the bottle. Next time, hope they don't spill as I try manually removing the tire with the Harbor Freight tire changer. Then try to scoop them out of the tire and put them in the bottle. They also clean up any imperfections in the tire and you end up with little bits of rubber and dust in the used beads. By the third tire, I declare that's the last time I use them. They keep getting harder to scoop out and the dirt and dust they pick up inside the tire make them harder to put into the next tire. I'd swear it took 3 times as long to collect and re-use the beads as it did the change tires using the Harbor Freight stand.

'05Train, I lost some stick on weights last month. I discovered it when I went to look for what was causing my 'new' vibration at 70 mph.

So with nothing to lose ( and quite skeptical too,) I went to EBay and found these ceramic "off brand" ceramic beads for $8 ( 4 oz, enough to do both wheels.) Pulled off my remaining weights and installed 2 oz in both wheels through the valve stem.

Now I don't care which system I use. When my Indy mounts my new tires this fall when I bring him my wheels, he'll use weights and that's fine with me.

But I will tell you that these ceramic beads work. There is no more vibration from imbalanced wheels on my bike as far as I can tell.

Last year I removed my external weights and placed 2oz of Dyna Beads in the front and rear tire. Gotta tell you...they work on my ride! I have ordered another set of the magic beads and will use them when I reshoe my steed!

Read that some guys are attempting to reuse them (the beads)...now that does not seem very cost effective at any level...not to mention being a serious PITA! JMO! The same goes with breaking down and mounting new tires in my garage. Don't want to mess with that either...I simply take my tires, rims, whatever to the dealer....ask them to remove/mount the tires...and don't balance them. I do the rest myself. Just works for me.

So your chief complaint was that they were a PITA to reuse? Do you reuse stick on wheel weights?

Wife's and my bike now have them. We just did a 4900 mile Sturgis trip and no out of balance issues at all. Just make sure valve stem is down when checking pressure. I had one bead stick in the valve stem when I checked the pressure and the stem was about the 2 o'clock position. had to remove the valve stem to get it out.

Good tip, didn't think of that.

the fix for that is to quit being cheap and buy a new package or go to a truck tire shop and get 12oz for $8

I love the brutal honesty on this forum. I paid $27 for the Dyna Bead kit at a local dealer. If I can get 12 oz for $8 I'm back in. Cheap, maybe. Doing my own rubber saves me $40 a pop.

I've been using them for the past 4 years. I see no reason to go back to balance weights. My current bike has been in excess of 125mph, smooth as glass. I have never tried to reuse them, too much of a hassle.
