09s had very few bugs, the only one I can think of is the rear break switch.
Beary
And then there were the short jiffy stands that they put on there by mistake (left over 08's) on the early 09's, and then they made a change in the steering neck bearing adjustment. Oh ya, there was the calibration upgrade for the 09 touring bikes with ABS. Lots of people never did get this one done. It involved a reflash.
And don't forget the whole front tire fiasco with the Dunlops when they reversed the tread design. What a cluster-F that turned into. The next big thing was when they had a few bikes catch on fire when involved in a head on crash. That involved a retrofit of the tank bolts.
Another thing was when they changed the drive belt deflection on all the 09 bikes. And last but not the least is the change in cruise control diagnostics which didn't go out until late in 2009. So, new bikes bring new problems. If they tested them long enough before shipping, things would be different. But, they never are. We are the guinea pigs. I can see a whole host of problems cropping up with the new touch screens and electronic gear they are outfitting with. I don't fear the new radiators nearly as much as I do the electronics.
One of our HDF members has already trial fitted a set of the new panniers to an older model. It is our duty to retrofit as much as we can!
With all due respect....
the 2014's were just released one week ago. Many dealers don't have them yet. I have a hard time believing someone...anyone....already has a set of new bags to even look at, much less retrofit, unless they have taken them off a new bike...., and why would they do that?

Show us a picture, and prove me wrong.
Sailrider, good catch on the "CVO!"
I saw the same post too but there was not a pic.
I'm not into proving you wrong though if that is the case. You can do that all on your own. I do that to myself often enough as it is.. lol
This came out Friday, and answers a lot of the questions that have been asked.
Too big ones: no, the Twin Cooled will not retrofit on older models,
and no,
the new saddle bags won't fit older models either.
Wrong... and ummmm wrong
The only part of the cooling system that would make it not a direct bolt up is the ECU to control the fans. A little thermostat workaround would make it work.
