Well I finally found some free time to ride yesterday (Sunday). Beautiful day and nothin to do.
Jumped on the bike at 10 am, told the wife I'd be back in an hour or so and headed out.
Started riding with no direction in mind, just turned when I felt like it. Most of the time I didn't even know where I was. To make a long story short, I pulled in the drive at 3:00 pm. and got the "I thought you were dead" butt chewin.
Don't know how many miles I put on ( quite a few I suppose ) only got off once to fuel.
Might be the best day I've ever had riding and I've been riding a long time.
Everybody talks about freedom of the open road, well people I found it yesterday.
Thanks for puttin up with me, I know this is a little long.
See ya on the black stuff.
I hear ya! I left yesterday at 7am and told the wife I was heading up into the north Georgia mountains for a short ride and pulled back in the driveway at 4pm. Weather was perfect and I passed several hundred other bikers all enjoying the combination of clear skys and open roads. There is nothing better than a day where you can ride and have no destination and no schedule.
2 Things i have learned to never say....
1."Be right back"
2."I wont be long"
Believe me you are not alone and i would say that most of us have been in your shoes with the time out riding situation... Some times it take just a little longer to clear the mind..
Sometimes the minutes turn into hours... :-)
No real harm done...Rite!! LOL...
