Okay, Sean doesn't have access to a computer during the day so I'm going to try to explain what he says is happening. He says he has a loss of power to the front cylinder. There is compression (he did the thumb test) but the exhaust isn't even. And the front cylinder is noisier than the rear. He opened up the cam case and everything seems fine in there. He had replaced the cams last may and wanted to make sure there were no issues. The oil was clean..no debris..nothing obviously cracked or out of place.
So where to go from here? Easy things first right? So new plug wires, check the coil and connections. Anything else?
Anything thing is the bike acted like it was in diagnostic mode the other day. It lite up and the needles swept. But no codes thrown and no lights remained on. But it has never done that before. Would a bad switch or sensor cause this? Thoughts?

It's early yet...
Others are working also. Me? I'm worthless, so no one will hire me...
Year/model of bike might help. Some bikes, have 2-1-2 exhaust, so one will have more output than the other. How is he judging his loss of power to the front cylinder? Could the bike be going into limp mode? Need air, fuel, ignition, and compression to get fire in an engine. Check them all. I'd check both cylinders. Coil and battery connections are a start...

It's a 2008 Ultra. It has Vance & Hines true duals and a power commander. He thought of limp mode but isn't that the rear cylinder that shuts down? He says this is the front cylinder. He says it's like it randomly goes into parade mode but it's the front cylinder.
He picked up new spark plug wires today. And he is going to swap the coils to see if it's a bad coil. He also got a new trip switch to see if that is what's causing it to stay in diagnostic mode.

The thumb test won't show the difference in compression but there could be enough loss in one cylinder or the other to make the difference. we used to pull one plug wire off at a time to check to see if they were firing.

It has power commander 5 with auto tune. The problem has no backfire or, smoke. Cannot really tell at idle just under load. Cannot really feel it while riding seems like there is power just left pipe sounds great, right pipe usually sounds that way as well. I figure if there is valve problems, would be smoke and/or backfire some other tell tell signs. Will put the cam case back together, get it fired up and see if it fixes...maybe had an pushrod a bit out of alignment or something?? Go on to plug wires and coil...Prob still there check PCV..Guess then would be open the head and see whats up in there.
Change your spark plugs before tearing into the rocker boxes. The problem showing up under load makes it sound like fouled plugs to me.
I also got bad gas one time that acted the same way as what you're describing.
