I don't think the saddle bag removal was the cause. The center of gravity would not be affected enough by the removal of a saddle bag.

I would agree with this... i have 3 HF lifts and 2 black widow lifts... i have had the HF with people standing on the side of the deck with a bike on the lift no problem, i can not see how this could happen. Granted i do not use the vice style chuck either, i use a roll on lock... was your bike strapped to the lift? if not that is your issue, had to have been... here in the shop we live by if it goes up on the lift it gets 2 straps. seen way to many guys have their bikes fall off lifts when they are "solid" sorry to hear about your bike man. We are pretty close to Wi if you needed anyting repaired on your trip shoot me a message

on the HF tables we have had everyting from goldwings, ultra's, chops, snowmobiles, quads... you name it! only item i sugest when you use a HF table is to be sure to bleed the jack on the unit as they need fluid added and air removed when they come from the stores

Sorry to hear about your bike falling. Look at the bright side, it's a good thing that you found it when you did. I heard if a bike lays on its side for more than 30 minutes, like a horse they'll die...

Just messing with ya... Any damage to the scooter?

Y'all are reading too much into this. The OP stated that the bike and lift fell over intact which means the bike was at a minimum in a wheel chock and the lift was also in the lowered position. I CALL BULLSHIT!!! No way this could happen. I know freaky things do happen but there's no explanation for this. I think the wife was pissed and pushed it over.

I would have taken a pic but was to worried about picking it back up. I wouldn't have guessed that the saddle bag weight would have made the difference. The other bag was empty. Now I want a wider lift table. And no one else was in the garage it was 5:00 am. Then to add insult to injury it started raining, so looks like I wait it out. Sorry for dragging on, hope rest of the trip goes better.
I hope your bike was ok after falling. I have to agree with most everyone else, how the heck could this happen?? What did you do to **** your wife off so much?? Or maybe a pissed off neighbor who happened to see your bike alone in such a vulnerable state while you were away?? Was your garage door open??
