I know there's a thread today about 2014's wobbling or not, but here's my dilemma:
2 weeks ago I noticed a wobble only between 45-55mph. Accelerating, or decelerating, in any gear. I feel it in the bars with both hands on bars. Tire pressures were fine, and I could find nothing myself.
Took it to dealer #1, and they state neck is fine but I had too much air in my 21" 880, and diff tires, wrong. This dealer installed my chrome front end and the 21" wheel, and has been fine since April.
Took it to dealer #2, and they stated neck and fall away are fine, but the other dealer over inflated rear tire, problem fixed, wrong again.
Rear shock pressure is good, and I could not find anything loose on the entire bike.
Any suggestions, or easy checks? Front wheel bearing? Dynabeads not doing their job all of a sudden?
The only things I have done are change foot boards, and tweak PC V tune at 0% throttle positions.
How well did the dealer check fall away? To truly check fall away, the fairing must come off, all the wiring disconnected and the clutch cable removed.
A problem can be neck bearings themselves and not simply fall away adjustments. Who has checked fall away? I don't know if I would trust just anybody unless they showed me the fall away adjustment tool. Has ANYONE actually greased the neck until grease comes out top and bottom?
2011? Hmmmmm check wheel bearings for the front.

I agree with jus2anoyu! What is tyre wear like? You are running custom tyre sizes, so while many others are as well, there is still an element of the unknown when running them. If you have significant wear on either or both, then fit new ones.
I know dealer #2 had the fairing off, but I was not present for fall away test.
Front end was just done in April, and I have been wiping away grease since then. I have, however, noticed less of it splattering on to my tank lately.
Wheel bearing and tire/wheel were just installed in April - 2,000 miles ago. The 21" front is at recommended 50 psi, and has dynabeads installed from Hogpro. I checked the weights on the stock rear last night, and appeared as if all were still secure.
Wear on both tires looks fine. 6,000 miles on rear, tread good.
In my limited mechanical knowledge in semi/auto world, a vibration/wobble at a certain speed is indicitive of a tire imbalance. I would have thought one of the dealers could comment on that, but maybe they ran right to the quick/easy/common problem - neck & tire pressure.
Thanks again for all insight.

Reason: added rear tire info.
