Our local dealer is having no problem selling them either. At least three touring models were sold the first week before they even hit the showroom floor. I'm not sure what they changed on the Road King but the 2014 has the best sitting and handlebar comfort of any RK I've ever sat on. SG and Ultras are very comfy too. My wife wants us to sell our Heritage and Sporty and trade the Ultra in for a CVO Ltd. I wanna wait a year to give HD a chance to work out any glitches that may pop up with all the new stuff.
am I the only one who thinks the handlebars on the '014 King are just plain FUGLY?? Look like Heritage bars which, IMHO, are the ugliest bars ever.
the stock bars sucked on my '11 RKC, tried the Heritage bars and they were even suckier, went with Santee 11" mini-apes, 1ź" internally wired, love em'.
I was kind of shocked too, to see a new Ultra roll by me. I thought, geez that's pretty quick to see them out on the road already. That was a week ago. And you're right, they are easy to spot with that big ole vent staring at you. Especially on this light colored Ultra that cruised by me.
It must be nice to be able to upgrade. I'm on my last bike. I wish it was a Breakout!
Unless your a young'n with a good back and only want to drive from bar to bar, forget it. I test rode one last Sunday and glad it was only a 10-12 mile ride. Sure it's slick looking with the fat rear tire and it had plenty of get up and go but it's not a bike your going to get on and do 100+ miles at a time........Just an old farts opinion....
No interest here. The only tourer I like is a RK Classic, and am I the only one who thinks the handlebars on the '014 King are just plain FUGLY?? Look like Heritage bars which, IMHO, are the ugliest bars ever.
Nope; the only new HD I would consider would be a Deluxe, or SuperGlide Custom. And THAT'S only if I needed a bike & couldn't find a used one.
Or you could take the bars off the '14 king and steer with the right foot on the triple trees.
I agree,
Stopped at my dealership last Saturday and they had two limited's on the showroom floor. Both had sold tags on them. I talked to the owner and he said that this has been the best sales of new model year bikes he has had in many many years.
