If you haven't swapped out bars, seat, and done engine mods I would go for it. I have way to much in my 2011 to consider. Good luck with the decision!

Dont think that is enough improvements to waste that huge chunk of change on. But to each there own, you don't need to justify it to us, if you are having to try and justify it, then you don't need it. When i bought my road glide i did not need to justify it, i just did it, however, each time i add crap to it, i am having to justify it.

Other then the saddlebags you can add everything else to your bike that the current road king has, come to think of it, with cash you can even add those new bags.

Yea I got offered the same for my 2010 RK too. To me a reasonable trade would be about a grand more.

Default 2014 rk

Traded my 2011 Ultra for a 2014 RK in Mysterious Red Sunglow, so far I love it. It handles really well, and feels like it just plants itself in the corners. The brakes are really good, and I have the linked brakes w/ABS. It has much better acceleration than my Ultra with the 96 motor. Obviously I gave up some wind/weather protection. But the large wind screen works pretty well, and gives me a pretty clean pocket of air. The stock seat seems comfortable, but the longest I've ridden so far is a little over 200 miles in one day. I had to adjust the bars a bit, by rolling them forward a couple of inches, but now the riding position is very comfortable. So far, so good.

Not regretting my '13RKat all, but I do have to say that the new saddlebags (one hand open) is pretty cool.

Anyone know if the '14 bags will fit on the '09-13 models.?

They wont fit unfortunately. The mounting holes dont line up. It was likely on purpose so we would have to upgrade.
