This happens every year to a few of them, will ALL manufacturers.
Nothing unique to Harley either.

I would be upset too, but sometimes stuff happens.
This could have just as easily happened to any year bike you buy.

Lets not rush judgement just because it is a '14

Now we'll see how this particular dealer takes care of their customer.

A loner bike is not out of the question, but taking a part off of a new bike on the floor is pushing it a little.
This my attitude currently

Oh yes, I'm sure that's why it was bad.

My dealers done it for me. I've even had them take stuff like hard wear out of parts boxes on the floor and sell it to me.

This one is all on the dealer in my eyes.

3 weeks before getting the part during prime riding season?? Maybe it's not pushing it too much.....

I disagree and see nothing wrong with taking a part off a new bike if there is a 3 week wait on the part. I think it is good customer service and If I was the decision maker at the dealership, I would delay the sale of a bike to get my current customer back on his horse. No brainer and good strategic, long term thinking.

I pulled many parts off of new machines when I had my Polaris dealership. Whats it take to get that injector off, 10 minutes? Spend 25K on a bike don't sound outa line to me to pull a part off.

I have purchased many vehicles. Never had one disabled at 70 miles. I would not be patient. I would at least want a loaner until new bike was fixed. I would be polite at first, but if dealer takes care of ******** first, I can assume that role quickly.
Good luck, OP. Let us know what happens.

Aren't these bikes mainly "recreational" for most of us? Yeah, they are outrageously expensive, but that's what you chose to spend. Expecting a ton of free stuff, bike payments, loaner bike or disabling another bike that is a hot item right now probably is not going to happen for a part that is back-ordered a few weeks. Some of you have expectations of grandeur.
