It usually takes me a 6-pack to change all the fluids on my bike. I previously had an 08 Dyna but i moved up to a 2013 Road King a couple months ago. Is 2 hrs about what it takes everybody else or am I just moving too slow? I dont want to rush and screw something up but I feel like it should be quicker than that.
Just fluids? 2 hrs is a bit much, but you are intimate with your bike and checking things over. Me, I put a pan underneath and pull three plugs. While draining, pull the derby cover and oil filter. Once drained, fill fluids.
a little slow if its just the fluids, but if you are doing all the other 'checks' that go along with that service, then you're moving along ok
sometimes too, setup takes more time than the actual process. i have a j&s jack. i can do all 3 fluids at one time if its on the jack. before i got the jack, it took a little longer cause i had to move the drain pan all over so i had to do them separately.
If I drank beer in my garage I would die of dehydration in about 5 minutes. It's freaking HOT in my garage even with the door open in summer. I guzzle water like it's going out of style and come in soaking wet from sweat. Beer is for after the job so I know I don't screw something up
The official stance on this is, it takes.......as long as it takes. Don't worry about how long it takes everyone else. Do it at your pace and make sure you're doing it right.
Sounds like some of you need an AC in your shop! I'm lucky I guess. Dad has an airconditioned garage, and 2 or 3 of my buddies own mechanic/body shops that are AC'd. Guess I'm a bit spoiled!

As long as the beers don't make you forget which way a drain plug loosens or that removing/re-installing the sump plug can sometimes crack the engine cases; you're good;-)
