Default Getting Trip Ready

I have a 2000 Road King with 21,000 miles and I am planning a trip next summer. Is there any maintenance I need to do between now and then.

Is this a joke? Check the air pressure in your tires about 30 different times.

Get a service manual, it will point you in the right direction. Sound investment.

might check the tires for dry rot. look inside the air filter box and make sure a mouse has not built a nest in it. hope you are using stabilizer in the fuel.

You will have to do a complete rebuild of the top and bottom ends before going on your trip.

How far are you planning to ride? Help us to help you! If you plan on riding a long way, then go for a few day rides of a similar length to the longer days you plan to spend in the saddle. Give your bike a thorough service, from stem to stern, about a month before you set off - not the night before!
