I bought this RK Custom in January. It runs like a scalded dog. It has Rinehart True Duals, Stage 1 AC and supposedly a factory generic download. It really sounds and runs very well, all the way through the powerband. I was gathering info to get either a Fuel Pac, Commander or a SERT. I went to the dealer today for some minor warranty work and asked them to ID the ECM. Guess what? It has a SERT map installed! I asked my salesman to call the guy who traded it and the previous ownerdid not know what we were talking about. I had to find the cable and software.I made a few calls after I got home to the original selling dealer, who knew the original owner. Tracked down where he traded the bike in. He bought a custom chopper and traded it in near where I live. I called there and a very helpful guy offered to contact the original owner. Well 5 minutes later he calls me back and says the original owner has the SERT and will drop it off for me Thursday or Friday. Bonus for me, so in addition to getting what I considered a very good deal on this bike, I just got another freebie($300 or $400)nobody even knew about. The moral to this is without the great info I gleaned from this Forum, I would not have had enough information to figure this out. Now I need a good tuner, as my dealer has no Dyno . I am in Southern Virginia if anyone reads this and knows of a good SERT tuner near me, please let me know.
Thanks to all.
I am not going to change anything, but if I modify the engine when the warranty runs out, I won't need tobuy fuel management. I want to get a dyno baseline and see where the numbers are so I know what I am working with that isall.
