I was given a quote of 1514 for two years from Fredrick Harley here in Maryland.
That seems way too high.

i`ve had them in the past but it cost me way more than i got out of it. So called "money experts" say it`s a huge waste of money for the consumer. i have to agree but everyone is entitled to make their own choice.

for a standard bike, i would agree. but if your bike is a cvo, then look at the amount of return a lot of folks are getting on the esp for a cvo. or if it's one of the new waterheads, i would definitely go for it. even if you get it now, instead of waiting for the 2 year factory warranty to expire, there is a benefit. tire and wheel kicks in automatically, and the trip interruption kicks in right away as well. there's other little bennies that go along with it so if you put lots of miles on your bike and keep them for a long time, then it may be worth it for you.

I had the 7 year ESP on my last bike, a 2007 CVO Ultra Screaming Eagle with the first 110" motor. A bike that is known to have issues. The factory replaced the heads along with other issues during my first two years of ownership, I actually never used the expensive ESP plan. My 2 cents; the water cooling should make the bike more reliable; issues like the coolant leak thing will be corrected way before your warranty expires. If you are going to ride a lot of miles, it might be a good choice, if you are going to ride 5K per year like most, I think its debatable. Back to your original question; I paid $1,695 for my 7 year ESP without tire and wheel plan. Remember, the 7 year is really 5 years over the original factory 2 years. The 4 year is really just a 2 year plan.

These are "service contracts" from a 3rd party insurance company. Not the same as the 2 year factory warranty. They are not as robust as the factory warranty. Harley does not offer "Extended Warranty" Just service contracts.

Hope this helps
Scott

while you did have those issues corrected during your factory warranty, the esp would have covered rental reimbursement, towing, and lodging. and you're correct, the more miles you travel each year, the better your chance at having something go wrong.
