I would look for a '09 up Roadglide, flatblack. But get the best deal because I'm gonna change every thing anyway... Ended up with my '09 EG for $11k might be close to $20k now??? I don't want to know...

If I was currently in the market and could keep what I have in the garage, I would buy this without hesitation.

Back to reality... I was just in the market and bought the best deal on an Electra Glide I could afford without taking a loan. Between savings, getting rid of the old bike and being patient, I found a very nice 07 ultra with under 10K on it. Why? Because I ride alot, wanted lowers and electronic cruise. I have never taken the tour pak off my bikes and never will. The wrap around backrest, seat and floorboards for the passenger make them feel safe and comfortable if you're riding two up.

I am very happy with my bike, but if I were buying now I would get the 2014 Ultra Limited without a doubt.

I have four touring bikes. An 08 Buell XB12XT Ulysses for roads like the Alaskan Highway which I first got it for, a 10 Ultra for the full dresser and two 12 RGC's. One for travel where a large amount of gear is not needed. The CVO RGC is for light day tripping with style.

What would I do if I started over? A V-Strom and a Victory Cross Country with it's huge saddle bags and top trunk. Just kidding! I'm stuck on HD yesterday, today and tomorrow. Well maybe a BMW R1200RT. Then there is the big Triumph or MotoGuzzi California. So many bikes so little time.

I have traveled over most of the North American Continent and the HD's have gotten me back home without issue 100% of the time. Could have been the bells but I'll give credit to HD.

I'm 73 and do about 30K a year since I retired. I like that there are few places that I go that there is not a HD store along the way. Never needed them, but still nice.

If I were you...I would buy the new Street Glide....Or you'll always wonder why you didn't. Its the coolest looking Harley touring. But I had an older one and I now like the Road King. Although the new Street glide is tempting me again!

We owned other brand bikes that were capable of touring in the past w/bags and windshields but after getting a newer HD last year and looking at the MOCOs tourers we decided another Harley was in the cards.
I went w/an FLHR for many reasons, it came w/what we needed and wanted.
These are/were my reasons and after 6K I stand by my decision. The Dyna only had about 3K added to the Odometer this year. For a railroader who is away 4 days a week and is junk when he returns home 2X a week we are happy w/this mileage.

2 up comfort
Hard Bags
passenger floorboards
detachable windshield, altho I did swap for a shorty and left it on all summer
ability w/4 point docking system to add tour pak later if desired (Momma wants one)
driving lights
cast wheels (I already got one w/spokes and a flat on the road sucks)
No radio, we can talk while traveling a 70MPH w/helmets on
No complicated extras that will be disapointing down the road when they don't work

That's what I was thinking, I was originally looking for a Goldwing XM Navi but the price and lack of dealer support pushed me toward HD.Now that my favorite HD dealer is also a Honda dealer it's a little different story. After riding my 13 Limited through the summer months I'm a little tired of the heat issue and not convinced the "waterhead" is the answer.

I am on my 3rd and it would be another pre 2014 EG Classic.
My next one may be a post 2009-pre 2014 EG CVO after this one is paid for.........
We all have our preferences and reasons. These scoots are very subjective as far as the hows and whys.
