Neats Foot oil takes a long time to dry, so be prepared for that if you use it. I used Lexol on a cheap leather jacket and it softened it up very nicely, it shines at first, but that fades out in a couple of days.

I just throw mine in one of the saddle bags. After a couple hundred miles they're as soft as a babies butt.

lexol works good and you can buy it almost any auto parts store. you can also use shaving cream with lanoline, used this on alot of baseball gloves.

I'd say wear it and get some miles down.

When we were kid's, my buddy's brother attached his "biker jacket" to the back of his car and dragged it through a parking lot. Believe it or not, jacket actually looked pretty cool when he was done.

Get buck naked, put the jacket on and take a 10 minute shower, without soap.
Next, get out of the shower and hang the jacket on a hanger out in the garage till it drip dries. Follow up with a good hand rubbing of saddle soap. Works for stiff leather boots too.

A lot of the info posted above will soften the leather with treatments or tumbling but the jacket still won't "hang" on you properly. The only thing that i have seen that speeds this up a bit is if the jacket gets damp and dries as you are wearing it. Other than that, wear it everywhere...around the house, watching tv, everywhere. I believe a jacket that is properly broken in by wearing it will fit YOU and have the proper hang.
