People will run into anything, hell cop cars and fire trucks get rear ended all the time. What you need it a firearm on the side. many times drivers don't see me but they see my pistol. The one pictured isn't mine but looked cool.
go to youtube watch the video of the Ohio trooper that runs into the back of a couple at full speed just happened. makes me want to light up like a Christmas tree.
Damn that is a good idea, but it only works from the side. Never heard of the plasma rods. Are they worth it? My LED strips will have spade plugs (male and femals), so if they go bad, I can just unplug them and quickly add another. about as fast as unplugging an extension cord.

I believe them to be worth it. They can be replaced easily if they go bad. My particular installation uses "posi-tap" connectors which tap into the harness at the rear of the bike. I do not recall reading of any going bad though, and they have been around for some time now. Search the forum for "plasma rod" and I'm sure a few threads will come up...
I have the 8 inch plasma rods as the filler on my sg and they work great. only thing I have a problem with is they get so hot when they light up I get a white film on my saddle bag it does clean off if you scrub on it. but as to the over all function of the rods they are prefect and I have them hooked into my brakes only. you can see them from about 200 ft away like you are standing right on them in the day light.
I placed about an 18" strip on my tour pac just beneath the lid edge on mine. Those lights are super bright and some what annoying at night when activated stopping or stopped. Cagers seem to stop further back now than before the lighting strip was added. Would love to add strobe strips to really get their attention.

Soundoffsignal Ghost multi mount Brake/ tail .....Flashes quickly 5x,then stays solid. Vrey bright, the lens/shape is slightly covex for a nice wide beam.Cagers stay way back!
Got the strips all connected today to my brake lights. They are invisible on such a dark bike, but bright as hell when I hit the brakes.....even brighter at night. I tied it into the same circuit as my airwing tour pack light. Cheap MOD well worth the money.
D
