Default Venting on the vent

Used to be you'd have to look close at a harley to see the subtle year change in a bike but now I find myself looking at all the batwings going down the road to see if it has a vent not really looking at the bike just the vent and thinking to myself...well, there's a new bike.. there's a 14'...there's a happy guy..not a bad thing, just a obvious standard for knowing now on that batwing harleys are either pre-14's(none-vent) or later models...can't wait to go up to someone with a new(vent) bike and ask him " hey, nice bike..what year is it?...just to see the look on his face...lol...

That's funny, the first thing that crosses my mind when I see a vent in a batwing....

Too funny, I've been doing the same thing, especially at the 110th and the Fall Ride in Tomahawk. I've seen LOTS at those two events.

Also, the other thing I've noticed at each of those, especially the 110th, is ALL the CVOs. Wow! They aren't as "exclusive" as I thought.

When the cvo bikes first hit the scene, they actually were very limited production. Like 700 total in a given model year. I have a 2006 se ultra and it is one of maybe 1200 for 2006. These days, I'm not sure of the number, but I'm fairly certain it's way more than that. I see new cvo's everywhere. Our local small town dealer has 8-10 used and 5-6 new on the floor. I know all the colors from the early years, and it's rare to see one.

Well were movin up in the world. Because I was told back in 96 that 15 grand and 15 miles don't make me a biker.

At 24 thousand for a plain old ultra, I've probably got the last harley I will ever own. Not that I have any desire to let her go. I paid 23,500 for my 2006 se ultra when she was 18 months old with 13k on the clock. This bike came with every conceivable piece of Chrome already on it. And they want 24 grand for a plain old brown bag ultra? Naw, I'll keep mine.....

Most so called Bikers I have seen don't ride much. Sit at the bar most of the time.
28 in in my 2013 but my cash and I ride it more in a month than most do in a year.
2014 vent is a sign of changing times. Hd will either change of fade away.
