I haven't been able to access the DTC screen on my 05 Ultra. Mine has a power commander on it. Would that hinder access to DTC mode. Lights come on but no speedometer movement or flashing code lights. How long should it take to start DTC mode?
Procedure I Used: Ignition switch off, turn HB switch to Run, hold in speedometer button while switching ignition on, and then release odometer reset...How long do you hold speedometer reset in after turning key to ignition or is it at the same time? Battery was low when I cranked the MC so I think all I have is low voltage error. I want to retrieve the code and then clear it.
Do a search here for the procedure to pull codes. It doesn't take long at all for the read out. You may not be holding the reset button in long enough.
The light comes on where the mileage is after about 5 sec or so.
Do I hold reset in until Ignition switch does its whole thing or release as soon as I turn key on?
I'll try longer and see on reset button.

My problem was a blown fuse. That is why it wouldn't run the diagnostics. I replaced the fuse, ran diagnostic, 1 error which was speedometer error, cleared codes, and good to go again. Hope it helps someone else!
