Default helmet locks

probably old news to most but ill tell it anyways:

went to bike week pcaked to the gills on my EGC. lesson 1 learned? install luggage rack on top of pack next time. got to the event and no where to store our jackets and helmets while walking around as bike was full. real PITA. happened to see a GW with someting strange under its rear pack. lookin closer it was helmet locks, niceley tucked up under and bolted flat to the bottom of the pack. neat. a trip to the HD shop and 35 bucks later and my problem solved also. for what its worth

In the past I have really not locked anything up very often - I have made up my own steel/plastic coated cable - but most of the time I do not use it and NO problems so far - however after just buying new Arai's and more leather = I just might look into something - times are a changing out there - did a google search and found this page - several nice options for your viewing - no contact with this seller just some interesting "quick" ideas for slowing the thiefs down a little

I also mademy own helmet lock out of a plastic coated cable and a cheap lock. It cost less than $5. You can see it hanging off my saddle bag in my signature picture. I store it there so the lock won't come in contact with any chrome or paint and I don't have to go into the saddle bag to get it. I use it to lock my helmet to the sissy bar.
