I installed the Curved License plate mount. #3163 from Kuryakyn.
The bolts were in place and tight when I removed the turn sig. bar, The mounting tabs on the plate bracket had broken and were still bolted to the sig. bar.
I'm NOT bashing Kuryakyn, I have used their products alot in the past and found them to be right on. Just a heads up for you guys who have that bracket.
Lost mine yesterday. It's a known problem with that part only from the earliest shippments at Kuryakyn. Kuryakyn has told me they have updatedthe backing plate. Kuryakyn will send a replacement part if you call them with your purchase info.
mine never broke, heard a few people talking about the problem and called them up and said I have one of the first ones and can i get the updated piece before I loose myplate.... they said no problem. I took preventive measures on this.
The new piece backign plate has a hole in it, the old one is solid.
So how do you think that may prevent it from breaking? I plan on using some double sided tape to support it off the fender eliminating any vibration while it's hanging off the mounting tabs.
