I ordered me S.G.S. in vivid black on sept 4th. It was supposed to be shipped last week but got pushed back till today. Today, it is getting pushed back again and so far they dont know when the new date will be yet.
Did everyone else get theirs on time? The waiting is KILLING me but at least I sill have my 04 Fatboy to ride
Ordered my new bike on September 5th. They said during the verbal part of the discussion that I might have to wait until November and wanted me to understand that. On the paperwork they put a delivery date of Oct 7th. The form says that could be (I forget exactly) 7 or 15 days later (or earlier). I went in to talk to them last week, was getting parts for another bike, and he said early October was still the time frame.
I think your dealer might be stringing you along. It'll show up, but not when you were hoping.

Maybe they are stringing me. I'm thinking though because of the coming winter, if it is going to come in late Oct. I will wait till spring and order again. By then, they should be caught up and I dont have to leave a frozen new bike in the garage all winter.
I dont think you're getting stringed along. Have talked with a few dealers and they all told me that the new touring Harleys are a hot commodity and they are sold before they get in the door. They tell me that HD is working OT to keep up with demand and that is part of the reason there have been a few quality issues on the new ones.
If you can get one in the next month or two, and you dont have to pay a premium to get it, you've done ok.
I try to get a couple of weeks of riding in during November. Then some time in Jan or March I usually find a couple of days where the streets are clean enough (no salt left) and dry enough to get the bike out. Usually January is about the only month I can't find days to ride to work at least a couple of days.
The delivery time frame was a bit of a concern when it was getting so close to the end of the best riding part of the year. I hear you on that!
I paid M.S.R.P, have a $1000 deposit so nobody else gets it. I called around and every one in Vivid black (only one I asked about) are all spoken for, for months.
I'm just venting I guess but maybe it will help with my buffeting...
I havent sold my fatboy yet but think I'll hold off for a while. I almost sold it last week, thank god he is still trying to come up with the cash...

I ordered an SGS earlier this month, and mine is expected to be in on or around 11 Oct. It will be interesting to see if it gets here then. Sounds like there have been some delays elsewhere.
