A big thanks to all who posted tips n tricks to installing the premium tour pak hinges. With the help of my beautiful wife I was able to pull it off with no problems. Since I was in the mood I installed the HD lock cover, very sharp if I must say, major difference........
Very slow when drilling the rivets out. The old rivets come apart at the hinge. Take them apart first. Separate the tour pak lid from the bottom. Use an 1/8 bit to drill them out carefully. Then use 11/64 bit to enlarge the holes, again super slow. The tour pak is very sensitive to heat. Drill to fast and u have a 1000 dollar trash can.
I assembled the new hinges to the top first then the bottom. Once it's all back together take one bolt at a time out and use red lock title. Do not over tighten, just past snug is fine.
No beer untilur done, it's so worth the wait. My wife was a big help holding the lid in place when I attached it to the bottom.
If you do a search on the forums you will find this is what most folks did. Some used a dremel to grind the rivet head off. I only had a drill and it worked fine.
Just think SLOW while you drill, there is no going back once you start. The paint chips easy and the plastic will crack if your too fast.
