Thanks. The main thing I heard was GO SLOW!!! Sure glad I read that. I would have just squeezed the trigger on the drill - not thinking about the plastic heating up / melting.
Sorry Pastime, I like the latches that came with the tour pak, they seem to work and look fairly well. They could be on the mod list in the future....let me know if you or anyone changes over to the premium latches......ride safe!

I agree that the latches on my tour pak seem to work fine but I am considering replacing the hinges.. Thanks for the posts. DO the premium hinges make a big difference? Does the lid line up better when closing?
A big thanks to all who posted tips n tricks to installing the premium tour pak hinges. With the help of my beautiful wife I was able to pull it off with no problems. Since I was in the mood I installed the HD lock cover, very sharp if I must say, major difference........
Next you should install the new Premium locks!I had it done yesterday and they look good.
I read in one of these hinge threads about using a dremel to grind of the rivets. I went this route after taping some cardboard around the hinge in case I lost control. This worked perfectly and I loved those hinges so much that I replaced the similar cheap hinges on on my police saddle bags:
