Dead speedo and tach

Like the title says, my speedo and tach quit yesterday, both at the same time. No prior troubles. Where to start troubleshooting?

Pull the front of the faring off and check connections..

or check the fuse for the gauges.. its for the speedo and tach

I had the same problem last saturday. Lost the speedo, tech, turn indicators. Popped the cover off and changed the fuse. I attribute the blown fuse to my gps in the power outlet. Right when this all happened the GPS went into "plugged into computer" mode. I am not sure what exactly happened, but I unplugged the gps and left it like that. Had no further incidents all weekend.
