Default FLHX part wanted

Any of you Street Gliders remove the brace at the rear of the struts? I'm moving my plate below the tail light, and don't want to deal with the leftover holes.

Beemervet, I posted in the "Wanted to Buy" for this very item and got a hit within three days. Also ask for Street Glide owners who have installed the Stealth Luggage Rack; the rack takes the place of the chrome support tube which is the part you want. Another source is your dealer; just ask for SG owners who had Stealth racks installed; the dealer may have the take-off, or put you in touch with the bike's owner.

You're welcome, Beemervet. Also, the SG piece will have a red reflector glued on. I would have removed it but the guy who sold it to me had already pulled it off. The glue residue came off easily with a 3M automotive adhesive remover sold in auto stores.

Get rid of the bar altogether. I used the Autogem lights from J&P. I decided to remove the lights and cap the ends.

I am not sure if you are wanting to buy the bar or not....On vitamin V (vicaden) so life is not real clear to me right now. If you are wanting one, I have one. PM me with what you think it is worth.

Rick, can you tell me what you used to cap the ends? I have been thinking about this, myself. Also, have you noticed any issues of instability?...I imagine this brace was put there for a reason.

Thanks,

Tom

I bought stainless caps from Lowe's. I think I found them in the plumbing dept. I've done this to 2 bikes and know of several others who have done it as well with no problems whatsoever. Another option is to simply cut the bar and cap the ends. The bar actually ties the fender struts and saddlebag supports together so you can't remove the bar without replacing it with something like I used.

A better option are these, I've installed them on two of my dresser's and I can't say enough.
