After a lot of research and testing I believe I have the answer to "auto text reply". Bottom line is the Iphone will not do it. It can be done manually in many ways but the IOS does not allow any third party software to auto answer a text message hands free. I have two phones. One is the Iphone4 and the other is the Galaxy S3 (droid) system. The droid offers several apps that will work hands free with the auto text reply while riding. I tested one simply called "auto reply" in my driveway and it works flawlessly. The infotainment system does not send the auto reply. Your phone has to have the ability to do it. Therefore again, the Iphone will not do it unless you pirate the IOS. Kind of like rooting a droid phone and I would not recommend doing it. So from now on my Droid phone will be on the bike and the Iphone will sit at home. There were several past threads wanting to know how to get auto reply to work on the 2014. I hope I have provided an answer. I have no interest in answering a phone or hearing a text while riding and do not use the headset to do so. However, if my wife calls twice in a 60 second period (emergency) I can still ignore the call while riding, but know its important enough to pull over and call her back.
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS POST!!! This is the ONLY feature that has not worked for me. Hopefully iPhone will have an update down the road that will allow us who use the iPhone to be able to have this near feature. Thanks again....
I have spoken with my dealer about this and he personally spoke with a HD engineer and was told that it is definitely supposed to work with the iphone. He had told the dealer that they would research the problem and get back with him. Approximately a week later he got back in touch with my dealer and said that while it was tested and worked in evaluation that it does NOT currently work and that HD is now working on the problem and that they will release a "fix" update soon that will correct the problem. The HD engineer stated that they were completely unaware of a problem with that feature until my dealer reported my problem to them. If that's true I would expect the update release to take several more weeks.

Unfortunately there is nothing the MOCO can do about the Iphone. Apple controls access to their IOS and no one else can. Apple has never allowed a third party app to control their IOS messaging hands free. Yes, it can be done and currently exists but you would have to root the Iphone or do it manually which defeats the purpose of auto text reply in the first place. Do some Google searching on this subject (tons of info out there). Apple has been way behind the Droid systems for years on apps and just needs to get on board with allowing more app access.

I do not claim to be an electronics expert or know everything that apple will or will not allow. BUT,.... I do know that the HD engineer stated that the infotainment was tested and evaluated using a iphone 5. Basically, according to my dealer, there is just a slight difference in the infotainment production software, and that al phones listed on the HD site s being compatible should be compatible when the new software upgrade is released.

According to the above link....only Sprint iPhones work. Does not support Verizon or AT&T.
