Check to see if that dealer is listed with the BBB, he will not want a bad rating their either.

Some of you guys are a tough audience. They build basically the same bike for 5 years (09 through 13) and then make some major changes. You want them to have 5 years of knowledge and wisdom accumulated in the first month? Don't tell me that for X number of dollars you deserve better, you probably do, but REASONABLE expectations will also help. It was YOU who decided to spend that much and to spend it NOW. People who suggested waiting for the bugs to get worked out may have been thinking about the hardware but that also applies to the accessories and modification part of the deal. Tell them to take their time, do the research and be sure all of the needed parts and tools are available BEFORE they call you to bring it back in. Hopefully one more trip will git 'er done.

Got a call on Oct 1, front end apart, but can't install the lowering kit without a "special tool", which the dealer cannot find anywhere. Front end put back together, waiting for install at a later date when the "tool" is aquired. Call today from dealer, heated grips can't be installed as per instructions, need extra wiring, due to changes on the '14's and they want to charge me for it. BUT, they have a cheaper set in stock that will install just fine, and should be able to get me a store credit for the price difference. Not happey with the way things are going. Happened to receive the HD new purchase survey today, excellent timing. Did the survey on line outlining the above, waiting to hear from the dealer about the survey.
Just venting a little, hope to have the wheels back today or tomorrow.
Time to pickup the bike and go elsewhere.

Argue for a refund, not a credit IMO.

The BBB is a joke. It's basically "pay to play". If your business pays and subscribes to them I'm not thinking that many negative reviews are going to be well publicized.
They call my business all the time wanting me to "join". Translation = pay them. I tell them to get lost or simply ignore their calls on a regular basis.

I dont know if I agree that the BBB is a joke. I had a problem with a company that makes wireless dog fences, that wouldnt give me the support I needed to setup the fence correctly due to their system not recognizing hardware correctly. I got on the BBB website and made a complaint, and within 48 hours they were calling me "very concerned" that my dogs are safe, and sent me new hardware to correct my problem, stayed with me on the phone for 2 hours while I set up the fence and got it working and called me back a week later for an update.

^^^Here's one of the more sane posts to OP^^^

Whenever you're the "Highlander" of new vehicle make-over there's a learning and logistics gap. Can't totally fault the dealer and, unless they're completely incompetent, conducting poor business practices, or totally trying to stick it in your rear - you'll have to rate this experience on the "overall" situation. I'd say it seems like they're trying to get you satisfied...just running into some issues so be patient and give them a little time to learn these new bikes. They'll get you back on the road soon.

The only part I disagree with the dealer in your situation, is that they are trying to charge you for the extra wire. the deal was made at said price installed. that one is for the dealers learning process in selling the new bikes. otherwise you cant control required tools. remember the mechs are just learning about all the changes also.
