You get what you pay for.......
Very interesting commentary and basically healthy. Nothing wrong with calling out Jamie or Steve or Doc. If, in fact like someone posted, that some of these guys M.F. each other on another forum, that crosses the line IMHO.
I have dealt with FM and bought every upgrade from them. Every pv map has been pretty much spot on out of box. I'm not saying it can't happen that a bad one get put out. Just has not been my experience. What I can tell you is the tune provided by Jamie is for your particular situation. If for some reason you change something, that map is no longer valid. Not saying that happened in this case but I know it can happen. Changing something simple like a different slip on muffler can have dramatic negative results. Especially on a modded motor. Ask me how I know...

Every bike is not identical & also a lot of difference between riders...how you ride your bike. What I was meaning by variables is that it depends a lot on where you live....elevation, typical weather conditions, etc.
I believe your bike should be tuned where you live for this reason.
For example, if you live in the mountains and buy a canned map that was developed at sea level it's going to be far from optimal.
After I bought my bike and had basic stage 1 upgrades done, I started with a canned map, then eventually had it tuned on a dyno. Was it ok with the canned map, yeah. But it was 100 times better after the dyno.
When I did cams and went with a 2-1 I obviously had to have it dyno tuned again.
It depends if you want "fine" or want it dialed in perfect. Fine is ok for some/most who don't know any different or have never had a good dyno tune. A good dyno tune makes a HUGE difference, even with just a basic stage 1.
I'll always opt for perfect, or as close as it can get.

I looked for the dyno sheet for my stock bike as it came from Harley and still can't find it. You know so many variables and all it must have a custom map.
I believe if you want EVERY pony after serious mods... yeah Dyno. But canned maps are fine for those of us just with A/C and Pipes. Nothing worth dyno-ing there.
