Just installed the hogtunes big ultra in my ultra! All i can say is wow!! Big improvement over stock. I know you you can spend more money and get better but for the price of the hogtunes kit you cant go wrong! My 2 pennies!!
7.1" Biketronics & amp here. As suggested go do some searching in the audio section. Don't remember if you mentioned a budget, but think about adding an amp also.
I reeeally like the looks of that Hogtunes tweeter pod. I assume that is the one you mean? I had planned to get it for quite a while. I ended up re-routing my clutch cable in a way that would interfer with the pod. From what I have heard the speakers aren't very good. One of the sponsors here has a kit that replaces the tweeters with some better ones? I decided to put components in my lowers so I could put the tweeter part in my batwing replacing two gauges. I'm very happy with the extra highs and don't miss the two gauges.
I went from stock last year to switching over to adding just the Boom speakers in the fairing and passenger speaker boxes. That was not to bad of an improvement for the price.
Had a chance to upgrade a few weeks ago to Hawg Wired Stage 2 CS: CS/DX system from another forum member. WOW! My wife was complaining a tad that she could not always hear the radio. She is a professional musician and likes crisp and clear sound. Now we never need to go above half on the volume.
Also added the J & M fairing sound padding which also made a difference.
The instructions from some radio amp's indicate that they won't fit inside some Electra Glide Ultra Classics. Everything fit real nice and it was an easy install combined with the painted inner fairing swap.
I have polk audio that sounds great as long as I'm not in the area of my riding buddies that have J&M 7.25 rokker. I want to change to J&M rokker but I refuse to pay what they want for speakers. the best sound you will find on most bikes.
I put Booms in my 05 and noticed a big difference over stock as well. I'm sure there's plenty of other options out there. As mentioned here, check out the audio section.
yep,BOOM speakers are not bad for the money. i'm sure there is better out there but unless you are running rear speakers i don't think you will hear anything over 70mph.
