After a long winter of adding chrome and my rinehart true dual exhaust i finally got to take a spin on my bike yesterday. it has been in the garage all winter. I stopped by a few friends and noticed that my exhaust has turned gold behind the heat sheilds. i under stand that this is going to happen etc but i have a problem. the gold off the exhaust reflects on to my chrome inner primary and my chrome timer cover. The heat sheilds dont cover enough to hide it. I dont like the trex exhaust. Does any one have any suggestions how to hide this or a replacement heat sheild that will cover more. maybe a way to polish off the gold color. powder coat the exhaust etc. Who else has experienced this and what did you do about it. I am too dam picky i know.
it was dyno tuned with a sert. I did ride it for about 100 miles or so before it was tuned. I understand the reasons as to why they turn colors. was looking for a way to get rid of the reflection.
Its not a Rinehart problem, its a tune problem...that being saidtry Dri Wash' n Guard by DWG International, its a premium metal polish and it works like magic. I bought it at a dealer and its the best I've found for removeing the blue/gold from pipes. Good Luck
just had the bike tuned with the new rh td and put 100 miles on today
right (front) pipe gold
left (rear) pipe blue
sert tuned afr 13.6-13.2
no decel pop the bike runs great
95" 02 ultra
now i have to put those blue lights by the engine
