Default 2014 Tour Pak ???

Does anyone know if a 2014 tour-pak will mount on a 2013 rack? I know HD sells a specific 2014 rack, but that doesnt necessarily mean it wont fit on a 2013. I want to get a 2013 painted to match my 2013 CVO RK, but dont want to use a 2013 tour-pak bec I prefer the new hinges and style.

2014 TP will fit on a '13 rack, you may need to drill new holes, or use an adapter plate, but it will fit. Also, '14 TP rack will mount no problem on '13 detach hardware. So If you do not have both TP and rack yet, the way to go is to order '14 TP, '14 TP rack and '13 4–pt detach hardware.

What I saw at the local shop would not have fit up well on a '13 rack, the TP rides lower, is actually recessed where the mount bolts up, appeared to me the mount was considerably different from the old styles. I would go to a dealer and check out a '14 TP to a older style detach mount to see if it will look awkward or even function.

I think you may need to use a 2013 QD mount to raise it up like the 2013's are. But I believe it will work. Be sure and post pixs once done. I'm interested as the donkey in parts at the dealer said it won't work.

This is a pic I made – check it out. It shows the difference between '14 and '13 TP on a '13 bike. http://postimg.org/image/ehpeezagl/
