Hey guys and gals I haven't posted in a while but been watching and reading the site. Anyway I need help, 2012 Ultra limited, I bought and changed out the front and rear turn signals bulbs to 24 LED boards and of course it needed a load equalizer. So I bought one off ebay for about $30 and it actually made things worse. If im reading things correctly after doing some research I need one that will-1. work with my security system, 2. correct my flashing speed, 3. I need 2 load equalizers-one for each pair of LEDS. Well let me know what im doing wrong and what I need to do from here.
I have a Custom Dynamics and it works great. Just need one. Some of the 2012's are Can Bus so you "may" need that type. CD website might help or call them. I don't know which other models do but CD equalizers do not get hot. Some brands get real hot. Also there was a synchronizing sequence that had to be done after my install you might want to see if that is needed. KOEO Right signal 2 flashes Left signal 2 flashes right signal at least 10 flashes KO.
I have essentially the same set up as you, (Custom dynamics triple play, CD red rear LED's, Harley LED tail light and fender tip light, and CD dynamic ringz up front).and am using 1 Kuryakyn (which I am not a fan of) load eq and it works great. My local stealer set me up for $28 bux on it and it has done the trick.
When 1st installed it took a couple of cycles to figure the system out but has performed flawlessly every since. As said, I am not a fan at all of Kury, but got lucky here, so far....
I have a biketronix setting on the bench that didn't work, called them and they were willing to work with me, said it may have failed, and then my favorite parts dude Tony hooked me up with a guarantee, and it worked. It is a simple science, but also a little crap shoot involved.
I bought my LED front and rear turn signals and load equalizer from Kuryakin. They've been working flawlessly for thousands of miles. Badlands may be a good source, too. Only need one for all four.
