Change the fluids in all 3 holes, air up the tires, connect the battery tender and give her a good coat of wax. That was she is all ready for Spring....
Too bad, down here in Florida our best riding season is just now starting. The rainy season ended about 2 weeks ago along with the heat. Now it'll be in the 70-80's till mid Feb, then we'll get a few days where it doesn't get out of the 50's. But we're a hardy breed, we actually ride in that kind of cold weather.
All the above. Get the 5000 mile oil change, fill up the tankand put seafoam in it. Make sure you have a good batter tender hooked up. Clean the bike all up and wait for spring.

Come ride the Children's Toy Run in Denver in December when you start at 7am and it's 10 degrees. Of course then if it's a sunny day it's 60s by noon. lol
PS - Sorry, I have no idea how to put a bike away for winter. What everyone is saying makes plenty of sense. I know the fuel additive is a big plus.

Scissor lift and battery tender.
I live at an altitude of 1,400 ft and must ride at least 25 miles in congested traffic to get home so this gives time for fluids to warm-up and evaporate possible contaminants. I never had nor heard of anyone having a problem related to periodicity or moment of doing the oil change.
I do everything that is stated already + I put STA-BIL Fuel Stabilizer in......also....I cover the bike and I use a Heat Stick....
It is a rod that gets warm to the touch...so when there is moisture under the cover......the stick "attracts" the moisture....so the bike stays dry throughout the winter months....
