Dealerships bank on people bringing in their NEW stuff. They know the new owners are unfamiliar with the product and CARE more than they will down the road. The CC I bought my wife has a scheduled tranny fluid change every 40k, $640.00. That ain't gonna happen!
10,000 miles is to long for the oil.
You should change it every 3,000!
It's not too long anymore especially if you SYN. My infinities at 3750 but I'm going to go SYN and double it. If you were to sample the oil and do a particle count test you'd be surprised how long the oil will last. The fed government is trying to double the oil change intervals with the MFGs. The old school club is going to change
Get yourself a cheaper car to maintain or buy some tools and get handy. Saying that the regular service at the Porsche dealer is too expensive is like saying "I was mauled by lions at the zoo while wearing my pork chop suit".
I know people that own Ferraris, Porsches, BMWs and other high end brands. They take their cars in for service, pay the bill and have no idea how much it was 15 minutes later. That's the kind of money you have to have to drive those kinds of cars. You think the oil change and tire rotation was a rape? Wait till it needs a clutch (if it's a manual).

Yes, I must be crazy to look at my bill when paying (cuckoo, cuckoo).
Wow, a bunch of well heeled gents here !! My 1988 K-5 oil changes are cheap, I buy the oil in a 5 gallon bucket fro 55 bcks and a Fram or whatever is on sale for a filter, probably 10-12 bucks. I suppose if I could afford cars like you fallas I would not sweat expensive oils changes too much. Glad to see so many making it good out there, bleak as hell here.
This sentence is absolutely begging for some punctuation. Sorry to be the grammar police - actually, I'm not sorry at all.... I just have to laugh when someone calls someone else an idiot and can't punctuate. Anyone else find that ironic?
Even through the lack of grammar he was able to make his point. I'd call that success.
