Default Broken Fairing Bracket - Repair or Replace

Need a little guidance here. I opened up the fairing on my '09 Ultra today to find that my clutch side fairing mount is broken right at the bend of when the bracket bolts to the top of the fairing.

I know this is a known issue on Ultras and see there are really 3 options available.

Replace the bracket with OEM

Repair the broken bracket using the repair it from eBay
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Fairing-Supp...9406e0&vxp=mtr

Replace with poly brackets
http://www.ebay.com/itm/ALLOY-ART-ST...34c935&vxp=mtr

Any words of wisdom would be appreciated.

I need to add that I currently have the CB module, Iron Cross iPod module and a 500 watt amp mounts under the fairing. I think if I replace the bracket OEM I will see the same break again. I guess I don't know the rigidity of the repair.

Lastly cost is of course an issue but not the limiting factor. I will definitely do the replace/repair myself so i don't have to figure in labor. I am really looking for a permanent fix here. Has anyone used the poly brackets?

Thoughts?

Repair it. The kit will make it last forever.
I repaired mine with an "L" bracket I had laying around.
15 minutes done. That was 15 k ago. All good.

Looks like one of the older brackets. OE was redesigned in case you opt the OE route

Just use an "L" Bracket, it will cost you under $1, that is what I did 3 years ago, still holding strong. Those poly brackets look beefy, but $90, Way over priced.

I fixed mine four years ago. I do not have a welder, so I bought two 1.99 90 degree brackets from the local hardware store.

Ground them down to fit the profile, drilled a couple holes and bolted them on. Used the stock mounting location on the fairing and used two bolts on the stock bracket.

Painted every black. Can hardly notice the repair.

Been holding strong since the repair. And cost me under five dollars.

HD's replacement brackets are redesigned and stronger. Do them both and you'll be fine.

I opted for the $50 ebay repair kit that you have shown. Its strong and super easy he gives you everything even the drill bit. And backed by lifetime warranty. Only thing not included is a pair of needle nose vise grip pliers. Only had them on for 5k miles but I dont expect they will ever break the angle brackets wpuld work good for where your break is but my outter brackets were also broken so thats why I went witg the repair kit

I fixed mine with the bracket repair kit from Ragan Fab Works. He is here in Michigan and was kind enough to meet me in my area to save me the shipping charges. Nice guy and a great product at a very reasonable price. My brackets both busted a few summers ago and no problems since.

I fixed my 07 Ultra back when it was almost new. Used the Ragan repair. Trading it in next week 79,000 miles and the fix is still holding. Also fixed a friends for him after he had the dealer fix his twice. Again used Ragan and 40,000+ miles later all if fine
