My indy wants $1100 for installing Adrews 37h cams. Deal includes new bearings, lifters, rods and necessary gaskets. No dyno and not sure why he wants to install new lifters but says he won't do a cam install without new lifters on anyones bike.
Added se255 cams,Vance and Hines power duals, monster rounds, se high flow air filter and dyno with sert 86hp 103 ft tourque. I love it, I'm sure there's better cams out there but for me these work great. I'm 300lbs riding an ultra limited and could really feel it working when 2 up. Bike pulls hard from idle up. Tons of bottom end tourque.
This info is more useful than seats of the pants
most have after numbers.
surprised at only 67 after a dyno tune
You might want to read the post again. He had his bike dynoed to determine where it was before he upgraded the cams, ie, stock. Then he had it dynoed again after the cam install and also incorporated tuning to get to the 83 HP number.

Seems high but I have used him before.
New lifters when replacing the cams are a smart move. BTW - MoCo recommends replacing lifters every 7,500 miles with any high lift cam installation.

Always replace lifters with cam. Always. Doesn't matter if it has 8 cyl or 2.

right, so still do not have the answer. does anyone tune a stock bike before upgrades are added. measuring from stock un tuned to tuned with an upgrade is not a realistic increase from tuned when stock. we all agree there is an improvement but is it ever measured apple to apple so to speak.
stock is ? then tuned is ?
stock plus ac and exhaust is ? then tuned ?
add cam, tune again is ?
do you see where I am going, still do not have the increase of the cam alone difference.
just know its well worth the money! Hammz where did you hear agout 7500 mi. lifter change recommendation?
your post is after mine so if you are talking to me, NO I will not accept that as an answer. too many share the results of the cam change and the wonders of it all but I want to know the difference from a well tuned stage 1 bike compared to cam added. we all know that cams offer an improvement but blindly changing then tuning the change and surprise big difference because you never had the best tune before you started does not cut it for me. I want a measured difference related to cost to consider. one day someone will have that answer.
