I had I house fire with a Ford Explorer inside the garage. You would be surprised at the things that disappear under high heat. The aluminum hood and back two aluminum wheels next to the gas tank were gone. The rear springs were collapsed. All plastic, fabric and glass were gone.
I hope the OP has an easier time dealing with his insurance company than I did. The vehicle only had 800 miles on it and was less than a month old and the amount they tried dinging me for under "depreciation" was unbelievable. Had to threaten them with a lawyer to get what I thought was a reasonable settlement.
Man that sux. If it was financed I hope you had GAP insurance. I ALWAYS carry GAP on new and financed vehicles. $300 up front is better than coming up with several grand later.
Can you imagine calling your dealer and asking for the bike to be picked-up for the Clutch recall? When the guy shows up to bring back to the dealership just point to that bike. He would either think it was funny or ????
