Yes really... Ever drive a new car that had flat spots? They sit on lots, often times in excess of a year.

If a guy is really worried about flat-spotting, would adding extra air create a solution?

I'm in mid Michigan and keep mine in a insulated dry garage. I always keep it covered with a large sheet and off the floor, I'm not sure why but it makes me feel better.

After four deployments overseas with leaving vehicles and motorcycles in storage units untouched, never had a problem with flat spots when I returned.

I've done both and never had an issue either way. Now I mostly use the left only because I can push it snug up against the wall

I find it hard to believe that I could let the bike sit for 5 months untouched.

Our local stealer puts them on pallets and puts them up on shelving. They keep the building at 55 degrees. The pallets may only be to accommodate the shelving. They get washed, waxed, lubes changed, stabile in the tank, and battery tended (along with enclosed trailer pickup) all for $275. I can't do all that and give up the room in the basement for that.

A little knowledge can go a long way in this forum... I'm rarely impressed by the knowledge of most posters here.

FWIW, flat-spotting does occur in "all tires" that sit for long periods of time. It can occur in as little as 1 day depending on the type of tires you are speaking of. High speed tires (racing applications) are the worst offenders.
Low profile tires (aspect ratio) such as those put on sports cars ie. corvettes are also more prone to this happening
Not too much to worry about with your HD dunlop or whatever you run. It can happen but your tire should go back to normal once you run it and warm it up.
