Ok, so I was wondering, will the 2 piece road king seat fit on my road king classic, and if so, can i use just the front (solo) part? i am looking for a reasonable (read cheap) way to add a solo seat when the wife does not go along. Thanks!
It should fit just fine.
You may need p/n 52903-01 mounting kit unless it comes with the seat.
The FLHR has a plate with 2 studs mounted through the fender that the solo seat mounts on that the Classic doesn't have installed.
I'm pretty sure the Classic has the holes for the stud plate, but I haven't had my seat off in a while.
If you go with the RK solo seat, you may want to get a fender bib. I've noticed a few small scratches on mine from taking the passenger pillion on and off. Mustang makes one and they also have a mini version that just covers the pillion mounting bracket (which is butt ugly IMO). I have both although I usually just use the mini. I have modified them to make them easy to put on and take off without permanently attaching them to the bike.
