Street Glide mods
Besides pipes, what mods have you made to your bike? Is there anything that can be done to make the bike more comfortable? I was thinking of a sissy bar and pad for my wife as well as possibly a set of passenger floorboards. How do the stock handlebars feel? I used to have a night train, and the stock bars were crap, however I know the design of a Street Glide is FAR different than a night train.
HD adjustable backrest, Highway pegs, RJS Originals heat shields, 9" windshield, Khromewerks Sweepers +2 handlebars, 4point docking bracket to pop a HD tourpac on and off for the times the Mrs. or kids want to ride.
I'm 6', 32" inseam, 15-34/35 shirt size. Your longer arms may make the need for replacing the handlebars a non-issue. I needed them up 1.5" and back 2" to make it comfortable for me.

I'm 5'6" or 7" flat footed. I have standard type boots with about a 1 1/2" heel. I wouldn't say my arms are long or short. I can comfortably flat-foot a 2013 or a 2014 with the stock seat in my boots. The bars seem only a little bit of a reach for me and I'm hoping I can get away with just tilting them back a bit. They're much lower than my 05 Heritage was already. If that doesn't work, I'll put the 2" back HD bars on it. Will be going to a solo bike at some point and will look for a slightly lower seat to give me a bit more leverage moving it around the driveway....
So I'm thinking you'll be pretty well set for you in front. I can't comment on the back of the stock seat but I can't imagine it being very comfortable for a passenger, especially without a sissy bar, er.... backrest. There are a bunch of aftermarkets out there. Mustang is very popular. But there's 100 opinions for every seat made.....
And thanks for serving. Stay safe!
I have done the floor board extensions, highway pegs (an absolute must for me), driver back rest, a HD Windsplitter, Fork wind deflectors, 4 point docking kit, luggage rack.
I like the stock handle bars better than the stock Road King Bars. I had replaced them with Heritage bars, which I loved, and these are close. Jury is still out on the bars. You, for sure, need to try some different stuff first hand though. Seat first, then bars, is the normal recommendation. Lots of choices.
I also have some running lights and the engine guard mounted fog lights which were on the bike when I got it. I came off a RKC so I like the extra light in front, but I am not sure I need both sets. (Not a fitment mod, but lights are something to think about.)
I think this is going to drive you nuts while you count days, eh?

Can you get subscriptions to Bagger Magazine, American Iron, and others over there? I have found tons and tons of ideas in each of these mags.
I have done quite a lot of changes to my bike. Many are viewable in these two photos.
I am also 5' 10", with a 32" inseam, however, my arms are short. The stock bars are OKAY for me, but I am eventually going to put on the touring pull-back bars to get them a little closer to me. You may be fine with the stock bars, or even apes if you like that look.
The stock seat is CRAP!!!!!! The stock seat on my Super Glide Custom was way better than this piece of dung. You will definately want to get a better seat for your partner's sake. Most of the dealers have sample seats they will let you borrow for an hour or so to test out. I did that, and ended up purchasing the "Pillow Look Seat" for my Honey's comfort. I put my other solo custom seat on when she is not with me.
Order the 2014 HD Parts & Accessories catalog, and start drooling. I spent weeks with the 2012 catalog and set up 9 phases that I wanted to do to my bike. I'm on phase 7, and she's starting to look almost done!

The Best of Harley-Davidson for Lifelong Riders
It's all good advice. Counting the days is going to be miserable.
I have a couple things that made my Night train unique to me which I took off when I sold it. Both of which were made by members of these forums. A derby cover and a small engraved tag. I plan on using both on the Street Glide. The tag will go in place of the reflector below the license plate. The derby cover is wrinkle black with Pantera's "CFH" machined into it. Not sure how the wrinkle black will go with the chrome primary and midnight pearl, but I don't really care. I'll be sure to take plenty of pics when I get them put on.
I'm planning on picking up a used set of slip-ons to get he harley sound for now and using the $1500 on stuff mainly for comfort. But we'll see. I plan on just riding it for a while until I figure out exactly what I need to do.
