Absolutely a great bike. Best guidance is on the cam tensioners. Ride it for a while, and see what it feels like. Might need some new front fork seals, but you'll be able to see that immediately by checking for oil on the forks or down on the calipers. Shocks may need replacement, but air em up and see how they feel. You can pick up cheap, new or like new shocks, 13" is stock, off of EBay. Your wife will like the ride. Don't lower it, especially with your size. Good luck, and let us know how it works out.

You did really well. Your buddy is jealous. Enjoy your ride. Just a thought to stretch your ride a bit. If a detach Tour Pak with Backrest for the wife would work. Notice I stated detach. I like the lines of your bike just the way it is!

Again, thanks guys - i need to post up some new pics. all the ones i've posted so far are seller's pics.

It's coming with a chopped tour pack w/backrest, quick-release style...

So that's part of what i'm excited about, the ability to tour 2-up or just strip it and ride as-is...

It also has some lower fairings with the pouches, etc...

Will get some good new pics this weekend and come back and post them up..

Enjoy the new ride!
Great looking scoot

That bike is far from being a standard. Beautiful bike. Google and see how a standard was delivered stock and you will be amazed with all the upgrades and extra's you have. I had my cam tensioners replaced with the SE upgrade kit. Mine were actually wearing fine at 31K but now have piece of mind. If one lets go it can take your motor out.

I think the only thing you need to watch for is crazy drivers and the police!

OK, I got a good shake down ride this weekend, 300 miles.

Bike is smooth, powerful, and looks really nice.

Reflections:
*needs rider backrest - i'm working on it
*front brake is soft, lever must pump-up, i hear that's common, working on a fix
*air filter hits my leg pretty good, going to have to get used to that
*need passenger floorboards - not sure off what, or how mounting works
*I'm liking the 5spd, was worried I'd have 6spd envy, but gearing is quite nice. 3500rpm at 85mph on flat, spins to 100 pretty easy.
*getting a diff chop-tour-pak mounting system, it's set for solo now, need for 2-up
*bike ran much better with 2nd tank of gas, which was 93 no-eth (1st tank was old gas with stabil in it)
*I didn't scrape the floorboards, whereas I scraped the Heritage all the time
*sounds really good, but still, as the hours go on, feels a hair loud... ear plugs?

Pics!

I replaced the stock front brake lines on my 02 RK with steel braided because I couldn't stand the spongy feel anymore. That was an excellent upgrade.

just got back from the goodie shop and engine performance man..

I'm butthurt from the spending, but 100HP ain't bad either, especially after i was so impressed with the '14 SG Rushmore, which I understand makes around 82HP (yes, i know it's all about torque).

a little teaser pic..

I also got brakes fixed... that was frozen pistons in the caliper... took caliper off, got them moving freely, re-installed and brakes magically fixed.
